windchimestars writes: I love your reporting, but was a bit shocked you mentioned an alleged affair Shanahan may have had with Musk (so effectively gossip). Felt a lot like sexism. (Just for transparency, not an RFK Jr or Shanahan supporter.)
Editor’s Note: This wasn’t just gossip. Shanahan and Brin divorced while Brin and Musk – once close friends – had a falling out that included Brin selling off assets in Musk-owned companies. The Wall Street Journal reported that the falling out was over an affair between Musk and Shanahan and has stood by that. If anyone could prove that false, the Journal would recant the story and face major consequences. It wasn’t TMZ that published this story
fedegene writes: I loved the coverage of the two party system. We’ve heard a lot from MSM about supposedly anti-democratic legislation that would restrict access to ballots (just bc a voter has to prove their identity…really?) while far more serious is the effort to keep out third party options. The argument by Sabato is very questionable too. Expand his rationale a little bit further and you could claim that the best for a stable superpower is a one-party system!"
JohnDonny writes: This weekend coverage about her 2 party system was an outstanding piece, one of your best so far. This clearly shows politicians don’t give a damn about the country, all they want is stay in power. The guy who said the 2 party system brings stability makes me laugh. Dictators say the same… and all the while Europe has been enjoying multiparty systems without any less stability…
YorktownSlim writes: I just want to say, I love the photography from OTG. It feels like I’m seeing real parts of the world, not the glossy pics from magazines. It makes me feel like I’m really there.
jbone writes: I really like the OTG reporting. You just don’t see other news companies who actually go out and report, all they do is call up people they know in those countries and get a one sided perspective of that.
Alfredo_Fuentes writes: You nailed it with the discussion group, awesome stuff as always Roca. As a Colombian it makes me sad that after such compromising scenarios Max got into, Colombia was the scariest. But I perfectly understand why and how. Things are not good here and haven’t been for more than a century, and there’s no real hope for improvement in the near future. Looking forward to that on-the-ground.
kelezra writes: Max! Need the Colombia story!!
annasilva writes: Would love to read the human trafficking in Colombia piece mentioned
RedRelyk writes: I work for Chickfila and I thought that the headline about the antibiotics was pretty clickbait-y. You know the reality of the situation concerning the chicken, but you chose to make it more sensational than you typically would make headlines. I’m probably biased, but I think it didn’t have to be “Chickfila uses drugs”
Editor’s Note: That’s a fair point!
nady76 writes: I love the idea of discussion groups. These deep dives get my wheels Turing and it would be nice to be able to hear more and provide additional insight. I guess the hard part would be how it is organized. To keep name calling out of it, no character attacks.
joelpadwicvk writes: roca discussion group sounds amazing but unlikely for me bc of time difference 😔
dominikhyuga writes: Absolutely make the discussion group happen! Love from Germany ♥️
mle11 writes: I want to have hope for a ROCA discussion platform, but so often I am terribly discouraged and disappointed by the “comments sections” of the internet… this is a pure little corner for me as is. Would hate to see it ruined.
